- Dissolve yeast in warm water. Sift together flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. Cut in shortening into flour mixture. Stir in yeast mixture until completely moistened.
- Add buttermilk. Mix well and place in airtight container. Place in refrigerator overnight. Take out as much as needed.
- Roll out on floured surface 1/2 to 3/4-inches thick. Cut into biscuits and place on cookie sheet. Bake 12 minutes in a 400° F oven.
