Miss Mary's Old Fashioned German Cake
- 2 cups crushed vanilla wafers
- 1/2 lbs butter
Mix about 2 cups crushed vanilla wafers and 1/2 pound butter until it forms a paste. Press into the bottom of a cheesecake pan.
- 2 lbs cream cheese
- 5 eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup butter (melted)
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 4 packages vanilla-sugar *
Mix at slow speed (approximately 8 minutes) until thickened. Pour over crust. Bake at 325° F for 1 hour.
NOTE: Vanilla-sugar is a German ingredient and is optional if you can't find it.Makes 4 Source:
